هذه الآلة قادرة على نحت العظام واللحم إلى رماد بضربةٍ واحدة، بالإضافة إلى التخلص من المواد العضوية دون عناء، إذا قمت بتعيين وضع الحماية على أقصى طاقته من الممكن حفر حفرة واحدة في مقلاة حديدية في ثواني معدودة، ومع ذلك هذا هو الغرض الرئيسي من الرمل. في الواقع يمكن للرمل القضاء على الصدأ بشكل فعال، وعلى الفور، والطلاء ومخلفات التأكل. يمكن أستخدامه أيضا لتغيير حالة سطح المعدِن، مثلا عن طريق إزالة الخدوش وعلامات التشكيل. يستخدم الرمل في البناء والتجديد، وإعداد الأسطح، ضمان أفضل لإلتصاق الدهانات والطلائات الواقية، كما أنه ينظف المعدات بواسطة التصفيات والمخلفات الكيميائية في ترميم المباني والآثار التاريخية. يعيدون للهياكل خصوصيتها الأصلية دون إتلاف المواد الحساسة. هذه التقنية تتطلب احتياطات لأن الجسيمات المنبعثة يمكن ان تكون ضارة. يجب على المشغلين إرتداء المعدات لتقليل التاثير البيني.
