#التطبيق_النحوي (ص١٤٤-١٤٥):
«من المهم أن تلتفت إلى أن ما الزائدة هي التي تكف إن وأخواتها عن العمل، فإن كانت ما اسما موصولا مثلا كانت في محل نصب بالحرف الناسخ، فتقول:
إن ما عملته مثمر.
إن: حرف توكيد ونصب
ما: اسم موصول بمعنى الذي مبني على السكون في محل نصب اسم إن.
عملته: فعل ماض مبني على السكون لاتصاله بضمير رفع متحرك، والتاء ضمير متصل مبني على الفتح في محل رفع فاعل، والهاء ضمير متصل مبني على الضم في محل نصب مفعول به، والجملة من الفعل والفاعل صلة الموصول لا محل له من الإعراب.
مثمر: خبر إن مرفوع بالضمة الظاهرة.
فإن قلت: إن ما عملت مثمر.
جاز لك أن تعرب ما اسما موصولا كالمثال السابق، وجاز لك أن تعربها مصدرية؛ لأن الاسم الموصول يحتاج إلى عائد وهو محذوف هنا، فتقول:
إن: حرف توكيد ونصب.
ما: حرف مصدري مبني على السكون لا محل له من الإعراب.
عملت: فعل ماض مبني على السكون لاتصاله بضمير رفع متحرك، والتاء ضمير متصل مبني على الفتح في محل رفع فاعل.
وما الفعل في تأويل مصدر في محل نصب اسم إن.
مثمر: خبر إن مرفوع الضمة الظاهرة.
