هل سبق لك أن تساءلتَ لماذا ينطلق المعدن المنصهر أحيانا في المصنع؟. حسنا، إنه في الواقع، فولاذ ساخن، وتُعرفْ هذه الحادثة باسم الحصى، عندما يتم تشكيل الفولاذ الساخن إلى عوارض أو قضبان تسليح، فإنه يمر عبر بكرات تضغط عليه وتمدده إلى الشكل المطلوب. ومع ذلك، في بعض الأحيان، بسبب عطل ميكانيكي أو التعامل غير السليم.  ينحرف المنتج عن المسار المقصود، ويتشابك أو ينحشر مما  يؤدي إلى اطلاقه،  وإذا هبطت على شخصٍ ما، فسيصبح على الفور الرجل الحديدي المصبوب.
