هناك العديد من الأسباب التي تجعل المسلمين يؤذنون في أذن المولود عند ولادته، منها:

* أن الأذان أول ما يسمع المولود من الكلام، ويكون بمثابة بداية حياته الجديدة.
* أن الأذان يُبعد الشيطان عن المولود.
* أن الأذان يُدخل السعادة والسرور إلى قلب الأم.
* أن الأذان يُعلن دخول المولود إلى الإسلام.
* أن الأذان يُساعد على تنشئة المولود على الإسلام منذ الصغر.

هناك العديد من الأحاديث النبوية التي تُبين فضل الأذان في أذن المولود، منها:

* عن أبي رافع رضي الله عنه قال: "ولد لي ابن، فأتيت به النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فحنكه بتمرة ودعا له بالبركة، ثم أذن في أذنه اليمنى وأقام في أذنه اليسرى".
* عن عائشة رضي الله عنها قالت: "كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا ولد له مولود نادى باسم الله تعالى وحمد الله تعالى، ثم أذن في أذنه اليمنى وأقام في أذنه اليسرى".

هذه هي بعض من الأسباب التي تجعل المسلمين يؤذنون في أذن المولود عند ولادته، وهي من السنن المؤكدة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم.
