بسبب ندره الطعام يقوم النمل العامل بجمع السكريات من النباتات وافراغ حمولتها داخل افواه مجموعه اخري من النمل يسمى نمل العسل وهذا لاستخدامهم كحافظات للطعام ويتم هذا الامر حيث يتشبث نمل العسل بسقف المستعمره ويكون هذا الموضوع تحت اشراف مجموعه ثابته من النمل العامل والذى يتولى نقل نمل العسل لاماكن امنه فى حاله حدوث امر طارئ وايضا تغيير اماكنهم بناء على درجه الحراره داخل الغرف .
والحكمه من عدم تحرك النمل هى الاحتفاظ بطاقتها والحفاظ على الحد الادنى من استهلاك الطعام ولما يحتاج النمل للطعام تقوم النمله الجائعه بلصق فمها بفم النمله المنتفخه وتقوم الاخيره بتقليص بطنها لاخراج قطره واحده لفم اختها سبحان الخالق .
